Halloween costumes on a budget

Posted by halloweenblog on November 26, 2009 at 3:19 PM

Every year, when Halloween rolls around the company worry as a what ourchildren will demand as Halloween costumes this year.  Even though wewish to please our children the best of our ability, sometimes it isjust not possible as Halloween costumes can be very expensive. However, you can still recreate some simple looks that will be verytrendy and will make your kids happy.

Twilight - hip Halloween costumes on a budget

Luckily, one of the most popular movies at the moment for teenagers is Twilight, which follows the story of Bella and her involvement with what appearedto be teenage vampires.  As Bella is a typical teenage girl it will beeasy to mimic her look as all you will need will be some jeans andcasual wear which your daughter already most likely has in her closet. To give the outfit an eerie look apply some light make-up on yourdaughter's face, giving her a paler appearance.

The same goes for your son, with a pair of jeans and his usual casual wearhe can impersonate one of the much loved of vampires in Twilight with alittle satiny white make-up applied to his face in a thin sheen.

IPhone -budget Halloween costumes for geeks

This idea can also make a great couples costume for a parent and child forthe geeks in your family, and they're incredibly easy to make at homewhich means they are very affordable Halloween costumes.

Dress the geeks up in a black shirt pants and shoes, and to construct the IPhone itself you will need some foam core board and access to a copy machinethat will be able to enlarge photos.  For the font of the iPhone use a black board and a silver one for the back, adding straps made of duct tape.  To make the face of the iPhoneyou can either print off and enlarge the applications menu or even justthe photograph you like.  You can then glue it or stapled it to theboard, and your iPhone is ready.  Throw in a pair of black gloves and a black cap, and your pair of iPhones are to ready to go.

However,if your child insists on buying a costume and you would like to accommodate him or her then you can try finding something at discountstores and by the basic necessities while being creative the accessories.  For example, you can recreate a princess Tianalook by buying just the green purple dress with Vines, and making yourown wand by doing on sparkles in ribbons to a basic star wand.  Or even recreating a Hannah Montana look is relatively easy, but you will haveto rifle through your own closet to come up with a more sophisticatedand glamorous look.

There are many other Halloween costumes that you can recreate at home withouthaving to spend a lot of money but still make your kids very happy. Just be creative and look around to see what else you can adapt to makea great Halloween costume.
